Volcanoes National Park
Set right on the edge of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, where more than a third of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas live in high-altitude cloud forests
Sharing a 1.2km border with the Park, the lodge and villa are the only offerings in such close proximity to the natural habitat of the ‘gentle giants of the forest’ and the Park’s headquarters, where treks commence, is less than 10 minutes away.
Taking its cue from Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage, as well as the conservation of these majestic animals, Singita Volcanoes National Park provides a nurturing environment from where to appreciate life-changing encounters with the gorillas. Guest suites include private heated plunge pools and massage areas, as well as in- and outdoor fireplaces.
A dedicated Conservation Room, Gear Room, on-site nursery and vegetable garden providing fresh produce for the lodge’s farm-to-table food journey further enhances the experience.
The creative inspiration provided by the gorillas translates to an authentically African experience that is layered in textures, tones and décor elements that reflect their strength as well as their gentle nature.
Raising the bar on sustainable eco-tourism, Singita Volcanoes National Park honours Rwanda’s people and its fertile land by touching the land lightly, while contributing significantly to conservation, community partnerships and reforestation efforts.

The Long Run
Singita’s sustainability partner – The Long Run – have worked at the intersection of nature conservation and sustainable tourism since 2009 and are rooted in the vision that tourism can create lasting prosperity for people living on a healthy, resilient planet. Long Run members understand the delicate balance and connection between human and natural ecosystems and how they co-exist. They advocate for innovative solutions and collaborative action to harness tourism as a force for good. The Long Run partners with leading organisations to shape the agenda and inspire nature-positive climate action and holistic sustainable tourism, worldwide.
The Long Run's 4C sustainability framework comprises four sections: Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce. These four are then further broken down to detailed subject areas for Singita’s specific context. These sustainability principles are critical to the fulfilment of Singita’s 100-year purpose and impact goals for 2030, and continue the good work fulfilled during the One Planet Living membership.
Singita Kruger National Park became an official Long Run Fellow in 2024. All other Singita properties will align with the 4C methodology and become fellows of the programme over the next few years.
