Game Drives at Lebombo Lodge
Guests enjoy an exclusive game-drive experience in what feels like having the entire Kruger National Park to themselves.
When you head out on a game drive from Lebombo lodge, there are a number of different routes to choose from – and our Field Guides and Rangers are experts in seeking out locations for the best possible game viewing.
The Poort is a favourite elevated vantage point, and a great place to stop and enjoy a coffee or tea in the mornings or sundowners in the early evening. The vastness of this 33,000 acre concession becomes quite apparent when you're looking out over the N'wanetsi River towards the border of South Africa and Mozambique. On clear days you can see the entire lowveld, and because of the vastness of the concession – you often don’t see other vehicles for miles.
From high up, the different types of terrain - the deep forests, the riverine systems and the grasslands are all visible, which means a wide array of wildlife.
There are significant prides of lions – including the somewhat famous Shishangaan and Mananga prides. Look out for elephant, crocs, hippos, wild dog, buffalo and saddle-billed storks and a variety of bird life. There is also a watering hole hide with the potential to see plenty of crocodiles and hippo.
Expect to be on a game drive for a good few hours, with a few stops along the way giving guests a pause to reflect and enjoy – and enjoy some delicious snacks and drinks as our rangers share their incredible stories of the bush.
